Creative wants a piece of the e-reader market share, since it has just announced a MediaBook model, packing a touchscreen, text to speech and an SD memory card slot. This E-book reader runs on the company’s Zii technology and also provides an Internet browsing experience.

It’s hard to imagine that Mediabook will be able to compete with the likes of Amazon Kindle, Sony’s e-reader or the Barnes & Noble Nook. The maker of the new e-reader aims to also deliver videos, pictures, text and services on a single device, aside from digital books. Creative is in talk with 10 international and local publishers, ready to provide content for its product.

Basically, aside from an e-reader, this device can be considered a multimedia tablet and you should know that it’ll also come with Facebook, Twitter, video playback features and much more.
