Compal 7 is an Android tablet that uses the famous Tegra 2 chips and NVIDIA’s solution is certainly put to good use, as shown by the video at the end of the article. This device was recently tested by the folks of netbooknews.com during the Netbook Summit, taking place in San Francisco and we can learn from their impressions after the break.

As far as the specs are concerned, Compal 7 features a 7 inch touchscreen, Android 2.1, a 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI and an SD card slot. The version shown in the following video is a prototype, as proved by its sluggishness and unresponsiveness. Android Community compared the device with a bigger Acer Liquid Android phone.

Rumour has it that this tablet will feature an ARM Cortex A9 CPU and it’ll integrate Flash and OpenGL 2.0. HDMI is also on board, with 1080p support and for some reason, there’s a 12 megapixel camera among the specs, in case the original source didn’t perform a type-o.
