If you’re looking for a tablet that goes for less than $200, eBay has shown us that you can buy a Coby Kyros slate for reasonable amounts of money. For example, the Kyros 8065 goes for $135, there’s a 10 inch slate out ther efor $197 and there’s a 7 inch version called the 7065 once again for less than $200.
Both units are running Android 4.0, with dual core CPUs, 1 GB of RAM and they pack 8 GB of storage. The resolution of the 8 inch Kyros 8065 is 1024 x 768 pixels and we’ve also got a microSD card slot on board, a Li Polymer battery and WiFi. The 7 inch unit has a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and both rely on IPS panels.
The 8 incher also comes with a rear camera of 2 megapixels and from the video below we can draw some conclusions about both slates. There’s a short unboxing involved and there’s a HDMI port as well. I like the texture of the case, but I find the display kind of glossy.
