We’ve known about the Chuwi Surbook device for a while now, as a pretty nifty Surface Pro rival, that comes on a more budget offering and it was available on a crowdfunding platform. Today, after so many renders we get to see the real device, getting handled in front of the camera.
It all happens in the video below, showing the device in action with a variety of tasks. Chuwi is getting ready to finalize its crowdfunding campaign for the product. The demo shows Office work on the machine and comfy typing on its keyboard, as the slate is propped on a kickstand. We also see some video watching, stylus input and gaming in Asphalt 8.
This budget Surface replacement has a 13.3 inch screen with a 2736 x 1824 pixel resolution, that works with a bundled pen, offering 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. One of the less appealing parts of the device is the CPU, an Intel Celeron N3450 in this case, which is far from the Core i5 or i7 action of the Surface models. At least we get 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Chuwi SurBook can still be found on Indiegogo, with prices starting from $299 and going to $399, depending on what you choose. The product’s goal has already been met on the platform, so it’s no doubt that it will be happening. There’s a 10.000 mAh battery inside, Windows 10 as the OS and the all metal body design isn’t bad looking at all. Interestingly, the official page of the device also features a comparison with the iPad Pro and Surface Pro 4, highlighting the pluses of the new product.
