We’ve seen at least 2 decent iPad Mini alternatives from China over the past months and here’s one more, this time under the Chuwi brand. The Chuwi Mini Pad V88 is the model shown in the picture below and detailed in the two videos after the break.
We’re dealing with a product that has its design inspired by the iPad Mini, but this unit is more affordable and packs better hardware. Inside it we find a 1.8 GHz quad core Rockchip RK3188 processor with Mali 400 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. This brings the AnTuTu scores to a range of 17,000, which is very impressive.
There’s also a 7.9 inch 1024 x 768 display on board, as well as a 4000 mAh battery. The Chuwi Mini Pad V88 incorporates dual cameras, with a 0.3 MP front shooter and a back 5 MP cam. It gives you support for a 32 GB card and also integrates a micro USB and HDMI out. The price tag of this unit is a mere $164.59, very affordable for a quad core slate.
