It’s been such a long time since we last reviewed a tablet, that we almost feel guilty about it. Today we’ve scored for review and unboxing the Chuwi Hi12 slate, a 12 inch dual boot model, on offer on GearBest.com, priced at $229.89. This model can be seen below.
It comes in a big cardboard box, in which we find the manuals, USB cable and charger. The massive slate switches between Android 5.1 and Windows 10 with the press of a button and it provides an Intel Cherry Trail Z8300 CPU, Intel HD Graphics Gen 8 and 4 GB of RAM. It also brings 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and it’s generous with connectivity, offering two full size USB ports.
One of them is an USB 3.0, so that’s excellent if you want to attach mice, keyboard or external storage. Speaking of keyboards, an extra $50 aside from the regular price brings you a keyboard and stylus to pair up with the device. There are special connectors at the bottom for keyboard attachment, turning this model into a regular laptop replacement.
Its 12 inch screen offers a 2160 x 1440 pixel resolution and has a video-friendly 3:2. aspect. There’s a 11.000 mAh battery inside and a main 5 MP camera at the back. We’ll be back with a full review soon and I should also mention this one is a hefty tablet, at over 800 grams in weight. In the meantime you can buy the product here.
