We had an article about a week ago, detailing the Chuwi 99i tablet, that was announced back in April. At that time we expected a price tag of $250 and today the tablet became available, for much lower price tag.

V99i

The slate is priced at $177 and it comes with a 64 bit processor and a high resolution screen. We’re dealing with an Intel Bay Trail model here, one that adopts the Z3735D processor and offers a 9.7 inch display with a Retina-like resolution. Chuwi already launched 7 and 8 inch tablets, so now they debut a bigger screen model. The format of the Chuwi 99i has an iPad feel to it and we also get 16 GB of storage, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 5 megapixel back camera.

At the front there’s a 2 megapixel shooter and speakers are said to be very good. The battery capacity is 8400 mAh and this model offers support for Huawei 3G modems, a common feature for many Asian models. Expect more and more models with the 64 bit Intel CPU and Android to appear over the following months!
