ASUS took part in CES 2022 and unveiled quite a few new devices, including a gaming tablet that turns into a laptop. It’s the ASUS ROG Flow Z13, with an Intel Core i9 and RTX 3050 Ti. It can also come sans GPU and be connected to an external GPU.

ASUS ROG Flow Z13 uses the latest Intel Core i9 Gen 12 CPU, which was just announced. ASUS pushes this product as “the most powerful gaming tablet on the market”, even though it’s just 12 mm in thickness. It also brings a version with integrated Intel Xe GPU. You can also pick between Intel Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 Gen 12, plus you can configure it with up to 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 1 GB of SSD PCIe 4.0 storage.

Graphics-wise, we have the NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti, with 2560 CUDA cores and 4 GB of GDDR5 RAM. TDP is quite hefty: 45W for Core i9 and 40W for 3050 Ti, so you need serious cooling. ASUS decided to offer a vertical layout of components, so the cooling system can properly pour air over them. You can also opt to leave out the RTX GPU and use an external solution, by connecting the new XG Mobile Dock via Thunderbolt. It can be configured with an AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT and it also brings extra ports.

Connectivity-wise, the tablet has a Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort 1.4 support and USB Power Delivery up to 100W, an USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. There’s also USB-A 2.0, HDMI 2.0, audio jack and a microSD card slot. Specs include a 56 Whr battery and you can pick between a 13 inch FHD 120 Hz screen or a 4K 60 HZ one. You can also add a Screen Cover Keyboard accessory and there’s a kickstand at the back side.

Sadly there’s no price here, but I bet it’s over 1000 euros.
