Sharp showcased their much loved IGZO technology at CES 2013 and information came out about Apple’s possible adoption of this technology. The Sharp Aquos Pad SHT21 tablet was one of the devices with IGZO technology that were showcased at CES and it uses that on a 7 inch LCD display, that’s shown in action below.
People who came in contact with the device claim it’s “absolutely stunning” and more intense than the Retina display. The tablet packs a dual core MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 CPU at 1.5 GHz and runs Android 4.0 ICS. Its screen supports a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and even supports pen use. Other feats include 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSDXC card slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. To that we add 4G LTE support and you have to know that the tablet weighs around 280 grams.
IGZO is dubbed as the technology of the future when it comes to displays, since it has better brightness, colors, viewing angles and also it’s about 75% less power consuming than current modern technologies. It even leaves the image displayed on the screen without using power for some time.
