AT&T’s CEO Ralph de la Vega recently spoke during CTIA San Francisco 2010, claiming that he has faith in the tablet segment. He said that such devices will have a great impact on both consumers and businesses. Considering that Apple is already rumored to have sold over 8 million iPads, we sure get what he’s saying…

Android slates are coming from behind real fast, too in what Ralph de la Vega describes as the “tablet revolution”. The official also mentioned that tablet sales will rise 42% in the next 5 years and soon become 1/4 of all US computer sales. Although these devices are nothing new, it was the iPad that started the craziness, drawing people’s attention to this device segment.

Samsung Galaxy Tab seems to be the next slate to give the public a wake up call, possibly followed by an Eee Pad, an LG Optimus Pad or the long awaited Notion Adam Ink. Let’s not forget the BlackBerry PlayBook and the HP PalmPad…
