ASUS is readying yet another laptop, this time one with a higher end CPU and improved graphics. It’s obviously part of the ZenBook series, although it could even fight a battle with some ROG models. Meet the ASUS ZenBook Pro 15, that packs up to a Core i9 CPU.
ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 is a slim and light laptop, that comes with discrete graphics, plus an Intel Coffee Lake-H processor. We’ve also got an optional 4K display and everything is crammed within a 0.74 inch thick body and with a weight of 4.1 pounds. Versions are plenty, starting with a Core i5 current gen CPU, or a Core i7 hexa core unit, going up to a hexa core Core i9.
Screen options include a 15.6 inch 4K display (touchscreen) with 100% Adobe sRGB color gamut or a 15.6 inch Full HD touch or non touch display. Both screens have 178 degree viewing angles and the laptop features 7.3 mm bezels for the screen, equating to an 83% screen to body ratio. On the storage front there’s 256 GB or 512 GB of SATA III SSD or 512 GB/ 1 TB of PCIe SSD. Up to 8 GB and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM are here.
No matter what you choose, the graphics are GTX 1050, which is actually not bad. On the connectivity front, there’s two Thunderbolt 3/ USB Type-C ports and two regular USB Type-A ports, as well as HDMI and audio jack. A microSD card slot completes the list. This ZenBook’s keyboard is backlit and its touchpad is glass covered, so it’s a premium model for sure.
VGA webcam, Harman Kardon acoustics, WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0, as well as a 71 Wh sound damn good to me. Expect to hear more at Computex 2018 in June, as well as a price tag.
