Computex 2012 included some interesting hybrid products this year, among which we find a lot of ASUS gear, like the 18.4 inch docking Windows 8/Android tablet AiO. ASUS AiO can be considered both an All in one PC and a tablet, that docks into a special cradle and becomes a full fledged desktop PC.

AiO has a removable screen section, that be put into a base station for desk use. The display part is a LED backlit panel with 10 point multitouch and sadly an unspecified resolution. With a single button press, the ASUS AiO switches from Android mode from the main Windows 8 OS. The screen is used as some sort of wireless display for Windows 8, so you must be in a certain range from the base station to use it. Looks like you won’t be leaving the house with this contraption anytime soon.

The exact specs haven’t been detailed, but speculations say we should expect Intel’s 3rd gen Core range, an optical drive, a couple of USB ports, HDMI, most likely Ethernet as well and the usual slots (microSD, SD possibly SIM, who knows?). Most of these are assumptions, so let’s wait for the official ASUS specs sheet to drop, OK?
