Confirming a few recent rumors, ASUS has started sending out press invites to the Zensation event taking place at Computex 2015, this summer. It all lines up with the recent leaks of the ZenPad tablets, which we’ll probably see unveiled there.
The fair takes place in Taipei and it will be live streamed on the company’s website. Last year ASUS unveiled a few interesting handsets, tablets and laptops at Computex and we expect the trend to continue this year as well. The Zensation invite shown above doesn’t reveal very much about the new products. There’s also some text in the invite, saying stuff like:
“inspired by the spirit of Zen, this year we’ve created a diverse range of exciting innovations, that will bring harmony and simplicity to people’s personal and professional lives”.
The ZenPad slates are aimed at replacing the MeMo Pad and FonePad tablets, or better said the Transformer Pad, if you ask me. Rumors say that the ZenPad 7 will come with a 7 inch IPS screen, a 64 bit Intel Atom x3 processor, 1 GB of RAM and a 3950 mAh battery. A 2 MP back camera and a 0.3 MP front shooter will also be here, as well as 8 or 16 GB of storage.
The product will come in 3G and WiFi only versions and the ZenPad 7 is rumored to be priced at $156. The other model, the ZenPad 8 will come with an 8 inch IPS display, with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, as well as an Intel Atom Z3560/3530 processor.
