The ASUS Memo Pad Smart was previously leaked a bunch of times and now the device also codenamed ME301T goes on sale in Thailand in what looks like a world’s first. The device was actually rumored to be launched at Mobile World Congress 2013, taking place in two weeks, but it appears that in Asia launches go down faster.
ASUS Memo Pad Smart features a 10.1 inch WXGA display, it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and features a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 1.2 GHz processor, 16 GB of ROM and 1 GB of RAM. There’s also a microSD card slot on board and at the back we’ve got a 5 megapixel camera, plus a front 1.2 MP camera upfront. Finally, there’s a micro HDMI port on board and ASUS WebStorage, with a capacity of 5 GB for a lifetime.
The product measures 9.9 mm in thickness and weighs 580 grams. For those of you wondering about the price, the slate goes for 10,900 baht, the local currency in Thailand, translated to about $360, which is very affordable and appealing. ASUS Memo Pad Smart comes in an a box of eco-friendly materials and it will be available in 3 colors, including white, blue and pink.
