ASUS has two new flavours of tablets ready to debut in Japan these days, the ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) and the ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA). The first model goes for $384, while the second will be sold for $336.
The ZenPad 3S 10 is famous for being so slim, below 6 mm even even slimmer than the iPad Pro. ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) is a 9.7 inch slate with Android on board and high res audio support. It also offers 7.1 virtual surround, as well as DTS for headphones. The display has 178 degree view angles and relies on an IPS LCD panel with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution.
We also get a fingerprint scanner and the MediaTek MT8176 processor, clocked up to 2.1 GHz. The OS is Android 6.0 Marshmallow and we’ve also got 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. Finally, there’s an USB Type C port and a 5900 mAh battery. It all weighs 430 grams.
Then the new ZenPad S 8.0 tablet comes as a refreshed model compared to the 2015 one. It comes with 4 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, an Intel Atom Z3560 chipset, a 2 MP back camera, which is a drop from the 5 MP one last year and the price is actually lower than the 2015 model. Storage and the CPU version have also dropped.
