French outfit Archos just debuted a new tablet, known as the Archos Oxygen 101S. This model is a budget offering, which promises “versatile use”. It’ll be available from Q1 2019, priced at around $169.
The French company has been on a roll over the past years, debuting a series of affordable devices and even some gaming slates. In September they debuted the Archos Oxygen 101 4G. Now we get a semi successor, taking the shape of the Archos Oxygen 101 S. This product is a 10.1 incher with an IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution. It also has a MediaTek Helio X20 processor inside, of the deca core variety.
There’s a Mali T880 GPU here that also makes the cut, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, for apps, photos and the works. A microSD card slot helps with expandable storage. Archos Oxygen 101 S stands out of the crowd of tablets through the fact it has a POGO connector. This lets you hook up accessories easily, including a keyboard and docking station. The back side includes a 5 MP camera and the front side a 2 MP shooter.
I should probably also mention there’s a fingerprint scanner in the mix. Archos Oxygen 101 S packs a 6000 mAh battery, which is supposed to last all day. Plus, it has Bluetooth and GPS, dual band WiFi and WiFi Direct. Oddly enough it has Android 9.0 Pie onboard, so Archos knows it’s doing.
