Although we knew that the Archos 80 Xenon existed from an Amazon listing, the device is only now official, courtesy of an announcement from its French maker. This is an 8 inch slate with Jelly Bean on board and the design pictured below:

The product will be available in a few weeks and it comes with an IPS display panel with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the OS. The 80 Xenon packs a quad core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU, 1 GB of RAM and Adreno 203 graphics. Specs also include 4 GB of storage, a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 64 GB in size, GPS, a front camera and a 2 megapixel rear camera.

On the connectivity side, we get WiFi, Bluetooth and also GSM and WCDMA. The Jelly Bean experience is stock here and the Play Store is present as well. Archos also brings media center applications for music and video. The price tag of the device is $199.99 and it’s coming in June.
