Apple has just started sending out invites to a new keynote, scheduled for next Thursday, October 16th. The event takes place at the Town Hall auditorium at the Infinite Loop Campus in Cupertino and the invite looks like this:
The tagline reads “it’s been way too long” and apparently the styling of the symbols shown here are a tribute to the Mac 30th anniversary logo. This means we’re getting new Macs and a new iPad, as expected. The iPad Air 2 has leaked way too often for it not to get a release next week. Meanwhile we’ll also get a new iMac and a 12 inch MacBook with Retina display, judging by the rumor.
Back to the event, it will begin at 10 AM Pacific Time/ 1 PM Eastern Time and it will include select members of the media and special guests. What we’re looking forward to is the iPad Air 2, with a thinner chassis, the Apple A8 or an A8x flavour inside, a Touch ID Home button, enhanced cameras and maybe an improved screen. There should also be a gold colored version of this slate available.
OS X Yosemite may well be released for free on the Mac App Store on the same date, so follow us next Thursday to learn more!
