The 128 GB iPad 4 was spotted next to existing 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB iPads. The details come from a source within a big US retailer, that got hold of the SKU information within the outlet.
The leak describes both a WiFi and cellular model, in black and white versions. 9to5Mac can’t confirm that the description actually means a 128 GB model is coming, but the supposition sounds legit. Developers have already found references to an 128 GB iOS device in iOS 6.1 beta and the icons for this size were also found in iTunes 11, so everything supports the claim.
Everything relies on the description “ultimate” for the product, with the usual descriptions in retailer lists being “good”, “better” and “best” for 16/32/64 GB models. Should we start dreaming of a 128 GB iPhone as well? For now an iPad 4 with such a capacity will do, especially since games nowadays tend to take 2 or 3 GB apiece.
