Apple clearly knows how to differentiate the tablet experience from the phone one, since it has an impressive amount of iPad specific apps. Now their very own Store gets this treatment.
The new iPad version of the Apple Store is only available in USA for now, adopting a bit of the iOS 7 flat design. The new app uses high quality images and context aware panels. When you’re in an item selection screen on the iPad you get color, storage and connectivity options, plus specs, box content and warranty info.
If you tap on a color, you can see the color options in the right hand area. Tapping on storage gives you a contextually aware pane on the right, explaining the size choice and advantage of products. Interactions are gesture based and they trigger a magazine style layout, or if you want a slide show presentation with swiping functions.
