Amazon intends to ship 4 million tablets by the end of 2011, but it appears they might be facing supply problems, because of the eternal requirements of Apple for huge number of components. Well, now the retail giant has secured at least a part of its components, ordering 1.5 million touch panels, according to DigiTimes.
Sadly, Apple partners and suppliers are having a tough time committing to some other company than the Cupertino giant. The big names include TPK Holdings and Wintek, that have expressed concern regarding the delivery of the goods for Amazon. The retailer wants its first shipment of panels in September, but due to recent shortages we could see a delay.
We remind you that Amazon is rumored to be working on two tablets, a dual core one and one with a quad core processor. Both are Android models and should come with reasonable prices.
