Amazon unveiled today a series of new tablets from the Fire lineup, with quite a new configs and upgrades. We’re getting improved screens, more RAM and support for larger microSD cards. This is the 11th gen Fire HD, which is jut one of the few 10 inch Amazon tablets just unveiled. There’s also the Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus 2021, the Fire HD 10 Productivity Bundle and the Fire HD 10 Kids and Fire HD 10 Kids Pro 2021 tablets.
The new Fire HD 10 tablets will be available starting May 26th priced at $150 and up and they’re already up for preorder. Let’s see what they have to offer.
Amazon Fire HD 10 (2021)
Amazon FireHD 10 (2021) is the most basic model from the bunch, with a 1920 x 1200 pixel display, that’s 10% brighter than the predecessor’s screen. There’s 3 GB of RAM here, an upgrade from the previous 2019 model. Bluetooth is also upgraded from BT 4.2 to BT 5.0 LE. It starts at $150 and comes with 32 GB of storage, or you can up for a $190 64 GB model. An extra offer involves two 64 GB units priced at $285 for a limited time offer. Another upgrade is the support for microSD cards up to 1 TB in size.
Other specs include stereo speakers, an audio jack, USB-C 2.0 port and 15W charging, plus a 5 MP main camera and a 2 MP front shooter. Inside we find a 2 GHz octa core processor, the same MediaTek MT8183 CPU from the 2019 model.
Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021)
This model has the same design as the one above, but it’s priced at $180 and up and brings 4 GB of RAM and support for wireless charging as extras. There’s also a soft touch finish on the rear cover and a wireless charging dock, which is not included in the base price. There’s a microSD card slot here with up to 1 TB cards supported, the same Mediatek CPU, up to 12 hours of battery life and an USB-C 2.0 port. We also get WiFi dual band, Bluetooth 5.0, a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front shooter.
Amazon Fire HD 10 Productivity Bundle (2021)
This is definitely something fresh: a bundle that includes the standard Amazon Fire HD 10 with 3 GB of RAM and either 32 or 64 GB of storage, plus a keyboard case with a detachable Bluetooth keyboard and a 12 month subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal Edition, plus 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage. The Bluetooth keyboard has a rechargeable battery that offers up to 400 hours of use. The price is $270 for the bundle, but early bird offers have it at $220 and up.
Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids (2021)
Little ones also get a special version of the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2021). The Kids edition has a bumper case, in blue, lavender or aquamarine. It has a kickstand, doubling as a handle and it comes with a 2 year worry free guarantee, 1 year subscription to Amazon Kids+ and parental controls. Amazon Kids+ lets you access thousands of kid-friendly books, games, videos and songs. This device goes for$200 and comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
A 2 pack costs just $280.
Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (2021)
Amazon is also offering Kids Pro versions of its tablets with 7, 8 and 10 inch diagonals. They have the same perks as the model above, with 2 year worry free guarantee, a 1 year subscription to Amazon Kids+ and parental control, plus bumper case. The Kids Pro has some extras from the regular Kids model, like the homescreen which is closer to the one on non-kids tablets, a Digital Store with kid-friendly apps, games and content, plus a web browser with some filters and parental blocks, plus voice and video calling via WiFi, with parent approved contacts.
The starting price is the same as the non Pro model.
