Allview Alldro 3 Speed Duo is an affordable dual core tablet launched in August this year and priced at 220 euro. This slate keeps the design of the Alldro 3 Speed tablet, it’s got a Home button and it’s pretty iPad-like. Allview is a Romanian brand, so we’re dealing with an East European tablet.

The device offers good grip, it has dual speakers, measures 10 mm in thickness and weighs 608 grams. Allview Alldro 3 Speed Duo relies on aluminum mostly for its case, but also resorts to plastic for the connectivity window in the case. As far as hardware goes, this device packs a 9.7 inch IPS LCD HD screen, with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It runs Android 4.0.3 ICS and it’s based on a Cortex A9 dual core processor at 1.5 GHz, with an AML8726MX chipset.

There’s also a Mali 400 MP GPU on board, a dual core one, accompanied by 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of storage. The CPU has 3 functioning modes: normal, at 1200 MHz, Power Saving, at 800 MHz and Performance at 1500 MHz. Also on the specs list there’s a microSD card slot and for those wondering, there’s no GPS and no Bluetooth. You can connect a 3G dongle to the device to add extra connectivity to the already available WiFi. The dual cameras on board are 2 megapixel sensors, although there’s a bit of confusion here, with some units getting 5 megapixel cameras.

The device does Full HD video playback and also inside there’s a Li-Polymer 5900 mAh battery, good enough for 5-6 hours of fun. The tablet can last up to 440 hours in standby mode. As far as benchmarks go, the Allview Alldro 3 Speed Duo scores 3207 in Quadrant, 6564 in AnTuTu, 34.7 FPS in NenaMark 2, 1178 in Vellamo and 123k in Browsermark. The audio playback offers good bass and very good volume, while the video playback reveals good colors and nice viewing angles.

The usual suite of Google apps is present here, plus a preinstalled Bitdefender Mobile Security, bundled with the device. We’ve got Google Play Store available, an Office Suite, an app for Notes and a reasonably fast browser. The slate’s functioning is reasonably fast and it shouldn’t lag at any time. If it weren’t for the battery, camera and some minor problems with apps such as YouTube, this product would be very hot. In this version it gets an 8.83 out of 10 from us and you can find out more in the review below.
