The Acer Iconia W3 is a brand new format of device, being the first sub 10 inch tablet to run Windows 8. We knew about the existence of the device since last month, but it was only unveiled officially and detailed at last week’s Computex. Well, now it becomes available for preorder!

The product has showed up as available on Staples and Amazon today, with both retailers offering the slate in its 32 GB version for $379.99, while Amazon also offers the 64 GB model priced at $429.99. Staples claims that if you preorder this model by June 14th, it will ship between the 15th and 17th. Acer Iconia W3 comes with preinstalled Microsoft Office Home 2013 suite, with Word, Excel and all the classic apps.

It packs an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, a dual core 1.8 GHz Intel Atom processor and 2 GB of RAM. There’s also a bunch of rear and front 2 MP cameras, micro HDMI and everything is packed inside a 11 mm thick chassis. The tablet weighs 540 grams and its battery is said to last for up to 8 hours. Will this product succeed?
