Acer joined the Verizon gang of LTE devices by announcing the Iconia Tab A500, an Android slate that uses the NVIDIA Tegra 2 solution. The device will ship with Android 3.0 Honeycomb, so we should expect it few months from now.
There’s a 10.1 inch display on this product, but the resolution is unknown yet, although speculations claim that the Iconia might incorporate a 720p screen. Acer’s custom UI is also on the mix, as well as a Clear.fi Media share function and HDMI port with support for 1080p video out. Iconia Tab A500 also has the aesthetic appeal, with a 13mm waistline and an aluminum casing.
Under the hood there’s dual core action and this device is considered a gaming powerhouse, at least by its maker. Let’s see what else is revealed on this unit, as CES goes along.
