Acer and ASUS are ready to enter a pricing battle for Windows 8 tablets in Taiwan, with drops of serious percentages of the original prices. For example, the Acer 8 inch model will get a cut of 15 to 20%.
The Acer 8 incher will fall below $338 and the ASUS 10 inch model will revolve around $400 or so. The Acer Iconia W3 8 inch tablet comes with Windows 8 and Intel’s Z2760 processor and just in case you’re wondering, Asustek is also planning to release an 8 inch Windows 8 tablet late this month. As you know, 7 and 8 inch tablets are becoming more and more popular as 10 inch tablets lose market share.
First it started with the 7 inch Android tablets and the iPad Mini and Nexus 7 models also contributed to the evolution of this segment. Now, the Windows 8 devices are also appreciated with this diagonal, for their low price and good usability of the tile interface on a smaller screen.
