The Acer Iconia Tab A700 is one of the first Android slates with a 1080p display on board, but it also has rivals such as the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity. Well, we’re not here to talk about the ASUS model, but rather about the Acer one, that has just entered preorder status.

Acer Iconia Tab A700 is now available for preorder with a price tag of $450. The device features a 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display and the real reason for calling this a 1080p tablet and not a “1200p” one is the Android status bar from the bottom of the screen. This device was unveiled back at CES 2012 6 months ago and it’s finally here, with a very appealing $449.99 price tag. It will start shipping at the end of the current month.

Acer Iconia Tab A700 packs a 1.3 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a microSDHC card slot. It runs Android 4.0 and Acer promised about 13 hours of battery life out of this model, but that depends on the way you use it. Ports include the usual microUSB, plus HDMI output and audio jack. On the camera front, we get a 5 megapixel rear sensor with autofocus. Also know that the tablet comes in black and silver.
