While many consider the follow-up to the Motorola Xoom to a mere enhancement in connectivity, adding LTE support, the new tablet might actually bring a couple of goodies as extras. For example, we’ve just heard that Motorola is working on a new Android slate with high resolution display.

Recently Motorola cut the Xoom’s price to $499, trying to get people on board with their toy, after not so impressive initial sales. Back to the future Xoom (or maybe a different branding?), this new model will pack a 10 inch display with an impressive resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, provided that the inside info is true.

Testers are supposedly playing with the device right now, in order for give it a beta trial before the official unveiling. The rumored Motorola tablet is supposed to run Android Ice Cream Sandwich and speculations say that the Tegra 3 quad core CPU is also on board. Shipping time for this unit is in late 2011 or early 2012.
