A gaming tablet needs to be usable without headphones when the situation calls for it, and the REDMAGIC Astra 2 appears built for that role. Its stereo speaker system reached 96.8 dBA in gaming and multimedia testing, delivering enough output to fill a room while retaining clear vocals and a noticeable low-end presence for a compact tablet.
Balanced stereo output at high volume
The Astra 2 uses dual stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra certification and REDMAGIC’s N’Bass technology for enhanced low frequencies. During testing at high volume, the sound remained balanced, with no noticeable distortion reported. Voices stayed clear, while bass had more presence than is typical from a small tablet enclosure.

Separate sound-level readings from the test unit were close between the two speakers: 81.4 dBA from the lower speaker and 82.2 dBA from the upper speaker. That small gap suggests a relatively even stereo balance in terms of volume.
For context, the Astra 2 exceeded the measured result for the 2022 iPad 10 and landed around the level of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. Its 96.8 dBA gaming and multimedia result also surpassed the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Huawei MatePad 12 X (2025) in the same testing.
Audio tuning and haptics for competitive play
REDMAGIC includes additional gaming-focused controls in Game Space. The built-in audio equalizer lets users adjust frequency ranges, which can be useful for emphasizing cues such as opponent footsteps in competitive titles. Game Space also provides access to the tablet’s 4D haptic-feedback setting.
Two linear motors supply those haptic effects, adding vibration feedback alongside the audio. The combination of loud stereo output, tuning controls, and haptics makes the Astra 2 particularly suited to players who want an all-in-one gaming and media experience without relying on an external speaker or headset.
