Samsung and Vodafone Romania just launched locally the Galaxy Tab 10.1v Honeycomb slate, according to the guys of Mobilissimo.ro. The device is priced at around $600 with a contract that includes unlimited Internet for a 2 year time frame. This new tablet packs a 10.1 inch touchscreen display, a 1GHz dual core Tegra 2 CPU and supports a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

There’s also an 8MP camera with LED flash at the back, able to do 1080p video capture and we learn that this 10.1v version was specifically created for Vodafone, that’s why there’s a “V” in its name. The product took off at the Cocor Store, one of the shops in Bucharest with the largest multimedia facade in Eastern Europe.

Considering that the first Galaxy Tab was the only tablet that was able to compete with the iPad, selling over 2 million units, we expect this new model to top that record.
