Yet another name is preparing to enter the tablet market and this time it’s Cisco we’re talking about. They’re supposed to launch the Cius tablet in the UK in Q2 2011, that should start in about two weeks. We’re talking about the UK launch here, but the product will probably hit the rest of the world around the same time.

Cisco Cius is a corporate/enterprise product, part of the Cisco Unified Communications Solutions. What this means is that you won’t find the slate at the regular retailers, meaning that it will be hard to compare prices with other tablets on the market. The source of this info says that Cisco targets CIOs with this device, so it may become a fashion statement in the enterprise segment.

The Cius model was announced in June 2010 at Cisco Live and we know that it comes with Android 2.2 as the OS, with Cisco’s UI Quad on top. The hardware platform of choice is Intel, accompanied by 1GB RAM, WiFi, 32GB of internal memory, a 7 inch WSVGA capacitive screen and Bluetooth 3.0. 3G and 4G are also among the specs, as well as a microSD slot, HDMI port and a 5200 mAh battery.

Camera-wise, you get a 5MP sensor at the back and a VGA one upfront…
