Oppo unveiled a rollable phone last year, quite a while before the segment got hyped. We haven’t heard much since, but the company assures us it’s still working on such projects. They also confirmed they were working on a tablet.
During a recent event the company’s VP, Liu Bo hinted that the company has in stall both foldable and rollable phone designs. The company will also announce its first tablet in the first half of 2022. This fits what source Digital Chat Station was saying in August, the fact that Oppo was working on a version of ColorOS for tablets, including dock, desktop widgets and more.
The tablet is meant to compete with Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6. Oppo has been growing a lot lately, trading first or second spot with Vivo in China in the smartphone market. Tablets is something that the BBK conglomerate wants to get into and you should know that BBK includes Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Realme. Somehow they have yet to make a tablet of their own.
For now Oppo is focused on merging with OnePlus and unifying ColorOS and OxygenOS. Their tablet may even end up as a OnePlus model.
