Huawei is preparing new tablets, it seems, judging by the latest leak. A certain Huawei MediaPad M6 8.4 Turbo Edition tablet has leaked online, following up on the MediaPad M6 8.4 incher launched in June. Let’s see what’s new.

There’s also a MediaPad M6 10.8 incher out there, but we’re more focused on the 8 incher, which is about to get a Turbo version. There’s also a brand new paint job to differentiate this model from the OG. It comes clad in red, a red that makes me think of the Redmi K20 for some reason. There’s also a matching box and a pair of headphones bundled.

What’s so Turbo about it? Specs and gaming for one, as the device has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, unlike the original model with 4 GB of RAM and 64/ 128 GB of storage. There’s also a Kirin 980 processor in the mix and a back and front camera, which are the same as the original (13 MP back and 8 MP front). The screen provides a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and the OS is Android 9 with EMUI 9.1.

An extra button has been added here, aside from the volume rocker and Power button. It’s the Turbo button, which is supposed to trigger the GPU Turbo mode and also we’re supposed to get liquid cooling, a dedicated gamepad and a protective case. We have no idea when the device will launch or how much it will cost, but we do know that the original cost $335 for the WiFi model and $377 for the LTE one.
