Samsung debuted a bunch of new laptops on April 1st and that’s certainly no joke. These are compact laptops, also light and slim and they’re part of the Samsung Notebook 5 and Samsung Notebook 3 series. Let’s see what’s special about them.

Samsung Notebook 5 is probably the most appealing with a 15.6 inch 1080p screen and metal body. The other two are Samsung Notebook 3 units, one with a 14 inch screen and the other with a 15.6 inch screen. The hardware features are pretty much the same, with your choice of Intel 7th gen or 8th gen CPUs, while the higher end units also include NVIDIA graphics.

These laptops have full QWERTY keyboards, with numeric pads and special ergonomic key caps, plus a pretty wide and generous trackpad. The display has anti glare protection and Samsung Color Engine for the sake of ideal color tuning. Samsung Notebook 3 and Notebook 5 will be available in Korea starting with April and then it will debut in China and Brazil in Q2.

All these devices come with SSD storage, but the 15.6 inch Notebook 5 has a combo of SSD and HDD. That one weighs 1.97 kilograms, has Full HD resolution and the 13 inch Notebook 4 has just HD resolution. All these devices have 43 Wh batteries, VGA front facing cameras and there’s an option of NVIDIA MX150 GDDR5 graphics card. Prices and specs vary depending on the market and colors are Misty Gray, Night Charcoal, Deep Peach and Pure White.

Weirdly there’s no info about RAM, other than the fact it’s DDR4. CPUs are of the quad core (Intel Generation 8) variety and there’s also dual core (Intel Generation 7) version.
