Toshiba Tablet seems to be the only name of the slate that the Asian company has just teased on its website. This Android 3.0 device will be based on a dual-core Tegra 2 processor and as Toshiba tries to make its product famous, it also pokes Apple for its lack of Flash. For example, as Ina Fried of AllThingsD found out, if you load the new Toshiba tablet site on an iOS device you get this message: “Such a shame… if you had a Toshiba Tablet you would enjoy the entire internet. Yep, Flash sites too.”
Also, if you check out the official specs list of the tablet and go to the battery section, it says: “Battery replaceable? Yes. By screwdriver-savvy people, like you.”, which is again referring to Apple’s non-removable batteries on the iPhone and iPad. Back to the rest of the specs, they’re pretty predictable, with a 10.1 inch capacitive multitouch screen, with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, a 2MP front webcam and a 5MP camera with autofocus at the back.
WiFi, USB, mini-USB, HDMI and an SD slot complete the feature list, plus it turns out that the tablet will come with “Quick-Key buttons”. Spring 2011 is when the product will come, but who knows how many more Apple-related teasers Toshiba will make till then?
