Engadget managed to catch a glimpse of LG’s rumored Optimus Tab just moments ago as they were snooping around LG’s booth in Las Vegas. This town will host CES 2011 starting tomorrow, so it’s logical that you’ll witness some leaks over the next hours. The slate seems to be running Android 2.x and packs an 8.9 inch display.

The Tegra 2 CPU was in no way confirmed at this point and Engadget also came across an ad, that shows the features of the Thinq appliances running LG’s home automation apps via WiFi. A slate was also included in the ad, showing off a rear camera, but there’s no guarantee this is really the Optimus Tab.

A tablet that feeds your dog and controls the energy consumption in the house? Sounds nifty!
