Micromax has a new tablet out in India, a model that focuses on voice calling features and also kind of looks like a phone. It’s dubbed Micromax Canvas Tab P681 and it’s priced at $111, available exclusively on Flipkart.
This slate is an 8 incher with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and an IPS panel. Inside we find the quad core MediaTek MT8321 processor, plus 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There’s also a microSD card slot and the OS is Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This model has a dual SIM setup, widespread in India and China, but not very much in Europe or USA.
The device also brings a 5 megapixel main camera with LED flash and a front 2 MP shooter. Micromax pushes this as an entertainment product, one that has DTS dual box speakers on board. On the connectivity front there’s also WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. A 4000 mAh battery is on board here.
