The latest Apple event offered us a new iPad, the iPad Pro 9.7 model, as well as a series of new accessories. For example we saw the USB Type C to Lightning adapter debuting, priced at $25. Well, now that very same device appears to have changed the game when it comes to juicing up an iPad.

All of you iPad owners surely know that it takes quite a few hours to charge such a slate, especially the iPad Pro. Apple sells its own branded USB Type C power brick with a 29W throughput and the new accessories seem to make up fine with the iPad Pro 12.9 inch. They’re able to juice up the battery much faster than the bundled 12W charger.

The folks of 9to5Mac reviewed the charger with the iPad Pro and reported a 64% jump in speed compared to the usual 12W power brick. For example the standard charger offered a 5% charge after 20 minutes, while the new model goes all the way up to 14% in the same amount of time. Of course, Apple could have bundled the better charger with the $800 tablet, but they wanted to make an extra buck on the potent power brick…
