A few days ago Google surprised everyone by launching the developer preview of Android N, which has been previewed intensively over the past days by devs and such. One such preview is available below courtesy of DetroitBORG, including some tablet action in the last 2 minutes of the clip.

We see the split screen mode, with the adjustable space dedicated to each portion, just like in Windows 8, for example. We don’t have edge to edge notification panels like on the mobile version of Android N, but we do get to reply to communications from notifications. Also the new animation for the dropdown area and new Quick Settings arrangement are included.

Split screen multitasking works in both portrait and landscape mode and it’s tucked to the side, if you exit it an do something else. The Settings panel isn’t finalized yet, so there’s no special side menu or tiled options yet. Android N should be showcased at I/O 2016 in May and it’ll probably bend up being called Nutella and sport a new Doze mode and a Night Mode.
