Verizon launched a new tablet today, through a partnership with Ellipsis and this new device is meant for kids. The product is actually part of a series of slates, following in the footsteps of the Ellipsis 7, 8 and Jetpack. Dubbed Ellipsis Kids Tablet, the slate is pictured below.
The new child-friendly model packs an 8 inch IPS display, a 5 megapixel main camera and a front 1.3 MP shooter. It also brings 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot with support for up to 32 GB of extra storage and a 5000 mAh battery. There’s WiFi in the mix, 4G LTE connectivity via Verizon’s network and a special Zoodles Kid Mode subscription.
The subscription lets kids and parents access age-appropriate games, apps and videos, including educational content. Obviously there’s parental control in the mix, with app blockers, child lock and time limits available. The product will be ready for purchase starting next week, November 12th at $249.99 straight from Verizon. Kickstands and bumpers are also available for the slate.
