OnePlus Two debuted one month ago and it quickly became even more hyped than it was through the rumors ahead of its release. The phablet got everyone excited and crazy about it, but then they had to wait on a list in order to get invitations, which is a major turnoff. Luckily Chinese retailers like Everbuying have listed the device up for sale, without invitation and for very good prices. Now let’s see what the device brings.
First of all, we’re covering it because it’s somewhere between a regular smartphone and a tablet with its 5.5 inch diagonal. It’s quite a massive device, at almost 10 mm in thickness and weighing 175 grams. It’s well built and solid and comers with removable back cover, that can be replaced with other changeable covers like bamboo and Kevlar Styleswap models.
There are two versions of the phone: one with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage and one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The “stock” version of the phone has a sandpaper-style finishing at the back, with excellent grip provided by it. Upfront there’s a 5.5 inch Full HD LTPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection and below if there’s the Home button with fingerprint scanner included.
At the bottom we’ve got an USB Type-C port, with a plug that can be inserted upside down with no problem. This is a dual SIM phone, that doesn’t have a microSD card slot and it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop in the guise of Oxygen OS. Inside the handset there’s the octa core Snapdragon 810 chipset, in the 2.1 version, that gets rid of overheating and offers good performance, plus low power usage.
The main camera is a 13 megapixel unit, with optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and dual LED flash, as well as 4K video capture and special low light functionality. Upfront there’s a 5 MP camera for selfies. OnePlus Two also brings a 3300 mAh battery and introduces a novelty among Android phones: an Alert slider on the left side, a button that has 3 settings: None, Priority and All.
The bottom position means “let all notifications in“, basically. The best part about the fingerprint scanner of the device is that it takes very little time to register a fingerprint, unlike other models out there. And now back to the goods, you’re probably wondering how much you have to pay to get this smartphone, especially since it comes without an invitation.
