One of the earliest updates to Android 5.0 was received by the Google Play version of the LG G Pad 8.3 last year. Then this Spring we saw the OG device getting Android 5.0 and then 5.1. Today the Lollipop update finally comes to the LG G Pad 8.3 V500 version from China.
I’ll remind you that the Verizon version of the slate, the LTE one got Android 5.0 back in May. The slate dates from back in 2013 and it was a very solid buy, name by many people including yours truly one of the best tablets of 2013, if not the best. Back then the 1920 x 1200 pixel display was very crisp, but not very bright, while the battery was modest, but did its job well.
This remains even now a solid gaming device, because 2 GB of RAM plus the Snapdragon 600 CPU can run any game in the Play Store. The 5 MP back camera isn’t half bad and the device is quite compact, at 8.3 mm. Anyone from China willing to confirm the update?
