Samsung has debuted its latest tablets in India, the models that belong to the Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab E series. The Galaxy Tab A is priced at $321 in India, while the Galaxy Tab E costs $264. We reviewed the Galaxy Tab A here.
The debut took place during an event in Bangalore and both models are based on Android and come with midrange specs. They also have SIM card slots and support for voice calling, popular features on tablets this year. Galaxy Tab A even brings Indian 4G connectivity, but the Galaxy Tab E sticks with 3G. Samsung Galaxy Tab A integrates an 8 inch TFT screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and runs Android Lollipop out of the box.
It relies on a quad core Snapdragon 410 CPU, clocked at 1.2 GHz, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There’s a 5 MP back shooter here, a 2 MP front camera and a 4200 mAh battery. Tab E has a 9.6 inch TFT screen with a 1280 x 800 pixel res, 8 GB of storage and a quad core 1.3 GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU. The same camera combo is here, plus a 5000 mAh battery.
The first model is sold by Airtel, while the second comes to Flipkart by this month’s end.
