Lenovo recently let everyone know that they won’t be releasing an Android slate in the US till Honeycomb (Android 3.5 or 4.0) comes out. This is pretty strange, considering most tablet makers are waiting for Gingerbread (Android 3.0) to launch slates. Also, Lenovo claims that they won’t be launching a Windows 7 tablet like… ever.

The LePad Android slate is still being shipped to the US, so there will be a Lenovo slate on the market after all. COO Rory Read is the one making these claims, while Lenovo’s director of new technology, Howard Locker mentioned that Windows 7 is still stuck with the 1985 paradigm, so there won’t be a slate with that OS on board.

Also, no LePhone will be available in the US for at least two years.. Well, at least we have the iPad, right?
