Panasonic’s Toughpad tablets are famous for their resilience and today one of them gets a battery boost. The Toughpad FZ-G1 model is the one with more battery, getting a 25% longer life and reaching up to 10 hours of continuous use on a single standard battery.
There’s an even longer battery life version of the product, with up to 20 hours of functioning time. Initially, the Toughpad FZ-G1 lasted about 7 hours tops. The device also got upgraded with a new UHF radio frequency identification reader (RFID) or contactless smart card reader. Windows 8.1 Pro will also be offered on the tablet, as well as a faster Intel Core vPro CPU, so you can really feel the upgrade.
WiFi connectivity will be enhanced thanks to Intel Dual Band Wireless and features that are kept here are the ones related to the slate’s resilience: the ability to withstand shock, vibration, altitude and humidity, among others. Initially, this model was priced around 1500 British pounds, for the entry level model, but with the improvements mentioned above I’m guessing it’s past the 2000 quid mark.
