It happens so rarely these days that products are shipped early instead of late, that we can say Microsoft is offering us a pleasant surprise this time. Apparently, they will ship the Surface Pro 3 i7 and i3 models earlier than expected.
Initially the Core i5 version was ready for availability on June 20th, while the i3 and i7 units were expected at the end of August. People who have placed an order for those two will be happy to know that Microsoft has decided to move up the ship date to August 1st. The new shipping date is a month ahead of the expected schedule, so this is good news. The i5 model is meanwhile available right now, priced at $999 or $1299 with 128 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM or 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM respectively.
By the way, both these models that come earlier are not bundled with the Type Cover 3 for $129.99, although that accessory is actually worth the bucks. Surface Pro offers a 12 inch 2160 x 1440 pixel display, a 5 megapixel main camera, a 5 MP front camera and a thickness of 0.36 inches.
