The long-awaited BlackBerry tablet might debut as soon as next week, according to a piece on CNN. Although RIM didn’t release any statement on the existence of the device, proof about it is continuously popping up and the tablet is very likely to be unveiled during next Monday’s event. Research in Motion has a developer event taking off in San Francisco, it seems.
The Wall Street Journal has some internal sources saying that the device is not yet ready to ship, but it will be in Q4. Also called the BlackPad, the first BlackBerry tablet is supposed to feature a 7 inch touch display and at least a camera, maybe a front one as well as the back one.
As we previously informed you, the unit is likely to lack 3G connectivity, relying on BlackBerry handset tethering for it. However, WiFi and Bluetooth will be available as well as a potential QNX-developed software, instead of BB OS 6. More info on this device next week, once the event debuts.
