It seems that the well known american chip producer, Qualcomm, it’s going to launch its own tablet with the latest SoC inside, the Snapdragon 805. This tablet will be named Qualcomm MDP, and it will be launched in late April through the merchant Intrinsync for a $799 pricetag.
The MDP Tablet packs a 10.06-inch IPS display with a WQHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 APQ8084 CPU, 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, infrared sensors, fingerprint sensor and Android 4.4 KitKat as default operating system.
Getting back to the new Snapdragon 805 processor we find out that unlike the Snapdragon 801 SoC, this is a real evolution and not just a facelift. The Snapdragon 805 comes with a Krait 450 arhitecture that can be clocked up to 2.7 GHz, and unlike the Snapdragon 800/801, the memory controller uses four channels instead, a technology that’s increasing the memory bandwidth up to 25.6 GB/s. Also, the 805 comes with the Adreno 420 GPU that offers up to 40% more speed that its predecessor and supports 4K videoplayback.
