Vivo is making the news a lot these days, first by developing a phone with a rotating camera with Nikon technology and now thanks to an ultraslim device with a 2K display. The handset is dubbed Vivo Xplay 3S and detailed below.
The renders of the phone look pretty hot and they remind me of the early day Meizu MX3 pictures. The Xplay 3S is supposed to have a 2K display, which translates to a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which may be too much for the human eye to notice, especially past the 330 ppi threshold. The device also includes some other top specs, like a 2.3 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor and support for 4G TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE, for all Chinese carriers to work with.
Vivo Xplay 3S uses a metal chassis that looks elegant and it’s very slim, in the range of 6 to 7 mm. The metal chosen here is aircraft aluminum apparently, if my translation from Chinese is right and I’m really curios what the deal is with the black band at the bottom. Is it an infrared emitter?
