Dell unveiled a new Windows 8.1 tablet, the Venue 8 Pro, that will be available in stores this month, priced at $300. The device is an 8 inch slate with an Intel Bay Trail processor and optional wireless keyboard.
It will also have an optional active stylus and the debut date should be around October 18th, which is the same day that Windows 8.1 launches. Dell Venue 8 Pro features an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel IPS screen, a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3740HD quad core processor, 2 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of built in storage.
The basic model will offer 32 GB of storage. Dell’s new product supports 2×2 MIMO 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and has options for 4G LTE and HSPA+. There’s TPM security on board, a microSD card slot and a 5 megapixel camera at the back, plus a 1.2 MP front shooter. Finally, the device will be available in red or black and pack a 18 Wh battery.
